Our love for horses and animals is something we wanted to share with everyone. Therefore, our property invites guests to interact with our retired racehorses, goats, chickens, and dogs, and to bring their own canine (or feline) companions to stay with us as well.
About Our Kentucky Bed and Breakfast
Accommodations
Nicura Ranch Bed and Breakfast in Kentucky is a 15-acre farm located in Berea. Our cozy barn accommodations feature five unique suites for guests to get “up close and personal” with the animals, and experience the serenity and beauty of farm life.

History
Owners Laura Parente-Comsa and Nick Comsa opened Nicura Ranch in 2021 after relocating to Kentucky from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Nick grew up with horses and showed them in his youth. For Laura, this was her first “rodeo,” but she quickly fell in love with horses and farm life.
Nicura Ranch has been a delight and a labor of love for the owners who can’t wait to share the magic of the property with you.

FAQ
Can I ride the horses?
No. Our horses are retired race/sport horses and are not trained for trail riding. We invite guests to interact with them in other ways and to learn their history.
What is included in your reservation?
The reservation includes your suite, use of the property and all amenities (fishing, fire pits, dock/boat usage, movie theater, sauna, fitness center, billiards room, library/games, and lounge), viewing/interacting with the animals, nightly bourbon and cookies, morning muffins, fruit, coffee, and eggs. Please note the price per night is for the suite, not per person.
Do you have an age restriction?
Yes. For safety reasons, all guests must be over the age of 10. Occasionally we will make exceptions if one child is over 10 and another is just under 10. Please contact us before making a reservation if this applies to you.
What is your pet policy?
Nicura Ranch is very pet friendly. We welcome all pets (including cats) regardless of size or breed. Our only requirement is that pets must be friendly and ok around unleashed animals. We prefer dogs to be OFF leash if guests are comfortable with this (we find they are far less defensive when encountering other animals that are also off-leash). We offer a fenced-in dog park for guests to use while staying with us. We recommend guests with pets choose a suite on the ground floor (Rose, Sunflower, or Lavender) to easily let your dogs outside.
What is the cancellation policy?
Reservations cancelled within 30 days of your arrival will recieve a credit, equal to the value of your reservation, in the form of a gift certificate. The gift certificate can be used any time on a future reservation. Guests also have the option to purchase travel protection at checkout. Reservations with travel protection are eligible for a monetary refund up to the day of your arrival. Please review guidelines/information at checkout.
Do the suites have coffee makers/refrigerators?
Yes. All suites have a Keurig coffee maker (we provide pods) and a full size refrigerator with a freezer. All suites also have a microwave and egg maker. The Rose and Lavender suites have full kitchens.
Does it smell like a barn?
Yes, but only in the stable area and lounge. The suites do not have a barn smell. This smell is a mixture of horse/straw/hay. It should be noted that guests with severe allergies may not be comfortable in this setting, especially February-May while the horses are shedding.
Is smoking permitted?
No. Because this is a farm/barn there are many flammable items. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property.
How can guests interact with the animals?
Depending on the guest's comfort level, they can enter the horse stalls (with supervision) and assist with grooming. Guests can also walk the pastures with the horses and goats or view them from a distance, including from the patio areas (where a fence will separate you from the animals).
What amenities do you offer on the farm?
Nicura Ranch has a fishing pond with a dock and pedal boat, walking trails, outdoor patios, and grills and fire pits. Guests with pets can use the fenced-in dog park. Indoors, there is a lounge where nightly bourbon and morning muffins are served, as well as a seasonal coffee bar. The upstairs loft offers a sauna, fitness center, movie theater, and billiards room. Board games, puzzles and books are also available in our borrow barn/library. Guests can purchase homemade ice cream and drinks (alcoholic and non) while staying with us. There is also a gift shop on site.
Is the farm close to local restaurants and attractions?
Yes. Nicura Ranch is located within 5 minutes of downtown Berea where there are restaurants and shopping. We are also 2 miles from I-75 highway, allowing guests to quickly access attractions throughout Kentucky and in the Lexington area.
Do you offer tours? Can people visit without a reservation?
No. Nicura Ranch is a private farm, open only to guests with a reservation. We do not offer tours.
Can guests feed the horses?
Yes, but we ask that you feed the horses while they are in stalls or at the fence line (never in the open field). Horses are permitted peppermints, apples, pears, and carrots. Guests should limit how much each horse receives (1-2 treats). The goats do not generally take treats. The chickens love all scraps! Please try and keep their treats to fruit, vegetables, bread, meat or worms...no sugary snacks.
